Event organiser Chris Glover said the Ulysses Club
was so experienced with organising the large get-
together that it simply brought its own experienced
people who were helped by locals to put it all together.
“We will be depending on about 500 volunteers, with
most coming from Albany,” he said.
Mr Glover said he had been preparing for the event
for four years after first putting in a submission to the
Ulysses Club board and getting local support.
He said it was the Albany friendliness and backing from
the Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry and
the City of Albany that ensured the positive decision to
select Albany for the 2010 AGM.
Club members, who are all over 40 years of age, are
well into their week of socialising and sightseeing before
they get down to the nitty-gritty of their visit, the meeting
